R. Kelly has postponed his forthcoming European tour due to a throat problem. The "I Believe I Can Fly" hit-maker was due to begin the trek on March 22nd but has now been forced to push back the dates after developing nodules on his vocal cords.
Doctors have ordered him to rest his voice for at least a month.
The singer says in a statement, "I owe it to my fans to give them the best shows possible and right now my voice isn't up to the job."
R. Kelly is due to reschedule the shows later this year.
Raheem Devaughn and Jason Derulo made solid debuts on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week, coming in just below Sade and American Idol vet Danny Gokey.
While each failed to reach the top of the chart, which went to Lady Antebellum, followed by Sade,' the duo's albums faired well thanks to singles like "Bulletproof".
Raheem Devaughn is this week's top R&B related debut, landing at no.10 on the Billboard 200. The "Bulletproof" singer's long anticipated album"The Love & War Masterpeace" opened with 45,000 copies sold, ironically tying his last effort, "Love Behind The Melody," which debuted with the same sales in 2008.
After claiming the top spot on the UK Singles chart with "In My Head," Jason Derulo's self-titled debut arrived at no.11 on the chart this week. Selling 42,000 copies "Jason Derulo" (the album) follows the chart-topping (Hot 100) single "Whatcha Say".
A powerful earthquake shook the island nation of Haiti yesterday, destroying most of the capital city of Port-au-Prince. The Red Cross estimates that about 3 million people -- one-third of Haiti's population -- were affected by the quake.
In an address this morning, President Obama said, “I want to extend to the people of Haiti the deep condolences and unwavering support of the American people following yesterday's terrible earthquake…Our thoughts and prayers are also with the many Haitian Americans around our country who do not yet know the fate of their families and loved ones back home.”

According to Billboard, the "Tasty" and "Milkshake" singer's latest effort, "Acapella," claims the no.1 spot on the Dance/Club Play Songs chart.
Leading her forthcoming album, tentatively titled "Fleshtones," "Acapella" was released late November 2009.
As previously reported, Kelis inked a new deal with Will.I.Am/Interscope Records in 2009. Slated for release later this year, Kelis' "Fleshtones" follows 2006s "Kelis Was Here".
