Mariah Carey has picked "I Want To Know What Love Is" as the lead off single from the anticipated album "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel". Slated for release September 29, "...Angel" features production from The-Dream and Tricky Stewart. But it is the forthcoming single "I Want To Know What Love Is" that has columnist Roger Friedman anticipating great success. "Mariah’s got a hit on her hands along the lines of “Emancipation of Mimi," says Friedman. "By the time its run is over, a new generation will think “I Want to Know What Love Is” is a Mariah Carey song." The forthcoming single, due to be released soon, follows the summer cut "Obsessed" and according to Friedman there are no more records related or even subtly related to Eminem. "Good news, too: no more songs about Eminem. One was plenty," Friedman confirms. A release date for the single has not been confirmed however, it is rumored to be headed to radio as soon as L.A. Reid clears Carey's completed album. "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" is due in stores September 29.
